AmCham Commits to Attracting Foreign Investment in Real Estate and Women’s Businesses

PHNOM PENH: The American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia is committed to attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to Cambodia in the real estate market and in women-owned small businesses.

On February 1, Prime Minister Hun Manet held a meeting with American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) President Devin Barta to discuss investment and trade relations between the United States and Cambodia.

The AmCham President expressed his gratitude to the Cambodian government for always providing favorable conditions and ensuring a better investment environment for American businesses. He informed the PM about AmCham’s activities in Cambodia, including the promotion of investment and trade relations between Cambodia and the United States. He expressed his commitment to expanding cooperation on attracting FDI to Cambodia in real estate business and training and skills development programs to help women build resilient enterprises.

The PM praised the good cooperation between the AmCham Cambodia and the Cambodian government, and thanked the American companies for believing and investing in Cambodia, to the benefit of its socio-economic growth.

He also encouraged AmCham to further strengthen and expand cooperation with the relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions, and emphasized that his government is committed to ensuring a good investment environment in Cambodia. He noted that his administration is strengthening the resilience of the economic and financial system and expanding modern means of payment through the QR-Code systems under the framework of Cambodia’s Free Trade Agreements.

He also informed the AmCham President about investment opportunities in the High Tech Industrial Park, in which the Royal Government is focusing on in the development of the digital sector.
